Second thing going for Blizzard is that while it does have the delay, it does damage all at once. So, AP management isn't too big of a concern. If you have another attack in there, it might be a free signature spell. However, a lot of Wizards just use two offensive skills, the other being Hydra, which is basically free given how long it lasts. But how are they different?īlast has two things going for it. With Blizzard you're doing 210% damage every 6 seconds. With Blast you're able to do 225% damage every 6 seconds. Blizzard is an AoE with roughly the same area, and does damage over 6 seconds. Blast is a small AoE with a 6 second cool down. What what what?! Yeah, I know they don't seem at all like the same skills, but bear with me. Plus, Wave of Force's range makes it usable when kiting, the knockback can be used to interrupt attacks, and it will knock treasure goblins away from their portals.ĭoes anyone use Explosive Blast? And if so, how are you using it?Įdit: Go with my on this, but here's another skill comparison: Sure, it does a little more damage and has a shorter cool down, but Wave of Force's damage is close enough to be competitive, the knockback is good for crowd control (I use Impactful Wave for bigger knockback + stun), and it fires instantly unlike Blast's 1.5 second delay. Wave of Force: 25 AP, 15 second cool down, 200% damage over a bigger area (not specified), also knocks enemies back and slows them.īoth skills are basically a high damage nova, but I cannot figure out why anyone would use Explosive Blast. Explosive Blast: 20 AP, 6 second cool down, 225% damage over a small area (12 yard radius), explodes 1.5 seconds after activating.
